What is rebranding ideologies?
Everyone is rebranding: Burger King, El Pollo Loco, Uber, etc... We realize the importance of not only the taste but also the packaging. We realized that there are some political movements and ideologies that are in desperate need of rebranding. They simply are out of date or misbranded. We are doing total rebrands of “Socialism”, “Defund the Police”, and “Republican”. The project lasted from October to December 2020, and we learned skills such as communications design, strategic visual placement, and effective verbiage.
Rebranding Socialism
Stubborn association with "ideology" leads us to make decisions that displacing and ultimately leaving behind our most vulnerable communities. The convolution of and propaganda against any measure deemed to be "Socialist" ends in the failure to enact policies, legislation, and other measures that are meant to be tangible steps in closing gaps of extreme inequalities. We take on the challenge to consumable deconstruct the fundamental misunderstanding of "Socialism" or "Socialist" policies in the United States, as well as the transition from ideology-constricted to human-centered decisions?
Rebranding Defund the police
Defund the police has been terribly branded, due to the branding it has led to misconceptions of the movement and our goals. This phrase has been turned into a buzzword that no longer has the ability to be authentically discussed. So we decided to tackle rebranding defund the police so that it conveys its meaning. We hope that our rebranding can reach out to everyone and encourage us to learn more about this movement.
For decades, the Republican Party united strong national defense proponents and social and pro-business conservatives. However, President Trump has reshaped the GOP and rejected its traditions. Trump has used the GOP in his own image, for his own benefit. Now, Americans view all republicans as Trump supporters, even though there is a clear distinction between Trump's America and republicanism.
Evolving parties are a normal thing- what isn't normal is a president who does not hold a deep ideology for the party they are representing; Trump can care less about republicanism. Today, because of Trump's carelessness and shadiness, republicans are stereotyped as close-minded, racists, and amoral.
